As Auditor, Jamie has implemented efficiency and conservation measures which have cut printing in the administrative department more than 25 percent.  This was accomplished by putting all Board agendas, minutes and summaries online and by scanning tens of thousands of historical documents, saving additional storage and staff resources.  He has also championed a transparent open government office by inviting candidates, the media and public to his office for election demonstrations, tours and explanations of the voting process.

Prior to his Auditor office service, worked for the Iowa Senate Democratic Research Staff in various capacities, including as a research analyst.  His duties included staffing a variety of standing and budget committees, responding to constituent requests, and analyzing and advising Senators on amendments and bills.
